Student participation in the challenge addresses national learning standards in language arts, science, technology, character and service learning, environmental education and more.
THE WINNER WILL BE INVITED TO WASHINGTON, D.C., June, 2011 and will also be invited to participate in the National Energy Efficiency Forum with energy and government leaders. (This trip opportunity is an all-expenses paid trip for two and The teacher-winner may invite a family member; the student-winner will be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.).
Guidelines for the teacher-winner are based on the average score of their top 15 entries when submitting 15 or more qualified student entries. Qualified entries are entries that score 25 points or higher based on the Challenge Criteria (See “Judging Criteria” section on rules page).
