Stacy submitted a scrapbook titled “Recipes for Recycling” in which she chronicles her efforts to recycle metal and mulch to save the environment and earn money for college.
“I hope to convey the importance of conserving energy and resources through recycling, mulching, and planting trees.”
For about 2 hours, Stacy was the center of attention at the Kansas Capitol. She was greeted by the Governor, Senators, the President of the Senate, the Governor’s Press Secretary, Policy Director, and more. Then it was up to the Senate floor, where they were seated in the VIP section as the entire Senate was brought to order. The President of the Senate recognized Senator Kelly to introduce a resolution that described the contest, the sponsors, and the specifics of Stacy’s winning project.
